Thousands of small and family-owned businesses – from pizza shops to variety stores to CPA firms – are using social channels to gain and hold on to customers. This course is hands-on in the computer lab and teaches you how to “do social” on a budget, where to invest your time, and how to get your customers to help you out. You will learn how to choose among Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other social channels – and how to market the “personality” of your business without getting in the way of business. Topics include:

Brand Voice Strategies – It’s all about the audience. Learn the three questions all businesses should be asking when building their first marketing campaign.

Why Social Media? – Sharing Trends and Examples of Success. Why reinvent the wheel? Follow the roadmap others have created to build your own business success.

Social Media Tools of the Trade – Every marketer has tricks to save time, increase engagement and build an audience. Peek inside the toolbox top marketers use to turn engagement into an art form.

Online Community Development – Using the right social platform is key to building your online community. Learn how to engage your audience and build ambassadors for your brand.

Claiming your Online Real Estate – Learn why owning your brand online is an important step in marketing your message.

I attended the last RVBA social media class today and it was excellent! Both presenters were knowledgeable and created a fun learning environment. I really enjoy that in both classes I attended they leave time at the end to visit your website/facebook page and give great feedback!

The Social Media Bootcamp organized by the RVBA and held at SUNYUlster last Saturday was great!  Chris Short from Dragon Search was a great teacher who kept us totally engaged and interested.  I thought 5 hours would be long but the time flew by. Access to college computers let us explore and collectively discuss the social media used by class participants.  Plenty of interactive Q&A, lots of great visuals and advice from Chris.  I would highly recommend this boot camp to everyone.

Sherryl and I attended the Social Media Boot-camp on Saturday 11/28. The presenter Chris Short of Dragon Search was great, he kept us fully engaged. The SUNY Ulster facility was 1st Class. The day flew by and the information that we learned will definitely help us with the marketing plan for our new venture.
